Peterborough Lift Lock

A true engineering marvel, the Peterborough Lift Lock has been a landmark on the Trent-Severn Waterway since 1904. As the world's highest hydraulic lift lock, it effortlessly raises boats 65 feet using only gravity. Locals love visiting this East City site to watch the impressive mechanism, explore the visitor centre, or even skate on the canal in winter.
